Notice to Clubs: re Social Media
Notice to Clubs: re Social Media
By Murt Murphy PRO
Social Media is great when not abused and it’s proved a great mechanism for dispensing information for all sports. However some individuals do abuse Facebook and Twitter and some late at night or early in the morning when they figure that the KDL and its voluntary officers are fair game. The KDL already fined a club for abusive behaviour by members of that club and now suspensions are being introduced. Abusive comments and defamatory comments aimed at KDL, KDL officers, referees, opponents, opposing managers or clubs, will not be tolerated. You cannot call an organization “corrupt “on a public forum and expect to get away with it. If you have a problem with KDL, get your delegate to raise it at the monthly KDL meeting, which are poorly attended. Banter and healthy discussion is most welcome but abuse and defamatory comments are not. So you have been warned – think before you tweet or post a Facebook comment – it could cost you and I have to put up my hand and admit it cost me work- so take this advice from someone who has worn the tee-shirt. – Needless to say it’s a no –no to post anything after returning after a night out.
