By Tommy Naughton

On Friday night St Brendans Park and Killarney Celtic will meet at Mounthawk Park Tralee to see what side will advance to the last 16 of the Munster Youth Cup ,

Both these sides have had a very easy passage to this stage with Killarney Celtic defeating neighbours Killarney Athletic by seven goals to nil in the first round and then travelled to Fenit in the second round where they won on an 6-1 score line . St Brendans Park received a bye in the first round and defeated Listowel Celtic by seven goals to nil in the second round .

These tow sides have not played against each other this year as they are in separate sections of the youths league . Killarney Celtic have only played two league games and won both by five goals to nil . St Brendans Park have played four league games with three wins and a draw coming in theses games where they have scored twelve goals and conceded just twice .

Killarney Celtic have a number of quality young players with the likes of Fergal o Donoghue , Connor Randall and William Courtney who were all part of the Kerry Youth Squad for their first game of the FAI Youth Inter League cup last month . They also have a real danger man in goal scorer Cathal o Shea who has been making a name for himself with their senior A team in Denny premier A .

St Brendans Park team is mainly made up of players from last seasons U16 team which made it all the way to the SFAI U16 cup final last season . They also have Paddy Collins , Ryan Dolan , Sean Dukes and Aaron o Keefe who were all youth players from last season and are breaking through to the senior squad this year . The Park will however be without their outstanding centre back Sean Kelliher who is on the mend from a broken leg .

Its very hard to pick a favourite going into this game but maybe Killarney Celtic might just shade the favourites tag when you consider their team won the Kerry U17 League last season and most of that squad are still involved with their club going into this game .
