Re; Airtricity U-17 National League participation by the Denny Kerry District League for 2017:

After consulting with the clubs of the Kerry District League at an Emergency Meeting at Mounthawk Park Tralee on Monday night, the Management Committee of the KDL have decided to participate in the Airtricity U-17 National League for the coming 2017 season.

The positivity from the delegates was refreshing and the committee at a meeting afterwards  unanimously decided  that a Kerry team should continue playing at this elite level so as young talented players will have a pathway to display their skills at a National level playing for Kerry and not having  to travel to outside counties to do so.

It was also felt that MC of the KDL have learnt from mistakes made in the initial year (2016) and costs will be streamlined this coming year, extra help from interested parties will be sought and it is expected that more support will be forthcoming from the soccer family in Kerry and the wider sporting public both by attending games and helping out with fundraising ventures.

Trials will be held later this month and there are a number of players who played last year available this year so it is hoped that not alone will players benefit but results will also improve and the KDL is very excited and positive going forward.
