Killarney Celtic and St Brendans Park will contest this seasons Denny Youth League Final in Mounthawk Park on Sunday at 4.00pm. Both sides topped their respective sections before winning their semi finals to advance to the league final.
Killarney Celtic topped section A after seven games winning six and drawing once while they remained undefeated in the league. In the seven games they scored 33 goals and only conceded on 4 occasions. In the semi Final they defeated Dingle Bay Rovers who finished sectioned in Section B on a 6-1 score line.
St Brendans Park finished top of Section B after ten games where they won seven had 2 draws and lost on one occasion. In their ten games they scored 30 goals while they conceded 9 goals in the ten games. In their semi Final they got passed the challenge of Castlemaine United in a replay who finished second in section A. The first game finished 3-3 before the Park won the replay by two goals to nil.
With these two sides in opposition sides of the league their only previous meeting came back in December in the Kerry area Munster Youth Cup Final which Killarney Celtic won on a 4-3 score line. A match report from that game can be viewed HERE.
Killarney Celtic will go into the game as favourites with being unbeaten and having the best goal scoring record in the League and also the best defensive record this season . St Brendans Park will be missing a number of players from earlier in the season but will have full faith in their squad where they will believe they can be crowned league champions against the odds on Sunday.
