SSE Airtricity U17 Shield 1st Round

 

Waterford Fc 1-3 Kerry DL

The Kerry U17 advanced to the quarter finals of the SSE Airtricity U17 Shield after they had an extra time win away against Waterford Fc at the RSC. Colin Walsh gave us a first half lead but Waterford levelled from a corner with the last kick of the game. In extra time Nathan Gleeson and Daniel Okwute scored the all important goals . Next up for this team is the Mark Farren U17 Cup Final against Bohemian Fc at Mounthawk Park on Sunday October 13th .

 

SSE Airtricity U19 Shield 1st Round

 

Kerry DL 4-3 Cobh Ramblers

The Kerry U19 side are also in to the quarter final stage of the Shield after a fantastic team performance against Cobh Ramblers at Mounthawk Park. After falling behind to two goals midway through the first half Kerry kept going and pulled a goal back through a Kevin Williams free kick on the stroke of half time. The second half was only minutes old when Boki Nikic levelled the game. with a fantastic strike from the corner of the box. With 13 minutes remaining Cobh retook the lead from what looked like an offside goal but it didn’t matter as less that thirty seconds later the game was level with Boki scored his second. Eoin Clifford then became the hero when he finished from a tight angle with less than ten minutes remaining. Kerry will travel to Dublin on Saturday to face Cabinteely Fc in the quarter final.

 

Munster Champions Trophy 1st Round

 

Killarney Celtic 4-0 Everton

Killarney Celtic are into the quarter final of the Keanes Jewellers Munster Champions Trophy. Although they needed extra time to get past the Munster Senior League side the truth is that Celtic created enough chance sin the opening ninety minutes to have easily gone through. In extra time first half goals from Ryan Kelliher and Stephen O’Mahony were added to by second half goals from Stephen McCarthy and Danny Roche.

Castleisland Afc 0-1 Killarney Athletic

The all premier A clash on Saturday night at Georgie O’Callaghan Park was a very tight affair with only a single goal separating the two sides. The only goal of the game came curtesy of William Courtney for Killarney Athletic. Killarney Athletic will have a home tie against Listowel Celtic in Round 2.

Listowel Celtic 8-0 St Brendans Park

Premier A side Listowel Celtic proved much to strong for Denny Division 1A side St Brendans Park on Sunday morning at Pat Kennedy Park. Ashley Kelliher was the top scorer on show with a hat trick while Darragh Mackessy grabbed two goal with Paudie Quinn, Joejoe Grimes and Brendan Angland all getting one each. Listowel Celtic will be away to Killarney Athletic in Round 2.

Classic Fc 0-2 Tralee Dynamos

Tralee Dynamos are into the next round at the expense of fellow Tralee and Denny Premier A side Classic Fc. A goal in either half by David Townsend was enough to put Tralee Dynamos into the next round at Mounthawk Park on Sunday. Tralee Dynamos will have a home second round tie against either MEK Galaxy or Killarney Celtic.

 

Celsius Menswear League Cup 2nd Round

 

Kilmoyley Athletic 3-4 Camp United

After a seven goal thriller at Mounthawk Park on Sunday evening its Premier A Camp United who are into the quarter finals of the Celsius Menswear League Cup at the expense of Denny Division 2A side Kilmoyley Athletic. Joe Kennedy scored twice for Camp United with Shane Foley and Fionn Coakley getting one each while Jordan Brick scored twice for Kilmoyley Athletic with Flor McCarthy getting one.

Killarney Celtic B 1-1 Killorglin Afc

Killarney Celtic remain top of Denny Premier B after they picked up a point at home against Killorglin Afc in their opening game of the season. Lee Carey opened the scoring for Killorglin Afc before Terry Sparling levelled the game with twenty minutes remaining.

Rattoo Rovers 5-0 Ballyhar Dynamos

After their opening day defeat Rattoo Rovers got back to winning ways against Ballyhar Dynamos who had won their opening fixture. One nil  up at half time Rattoo never looked back in the second half and easily picked up the three points with two goals from Mikey Boyle and one each from Liam Boyle, Johnny Regan and Kevin Goulding.

 

Denny Division 1A

 

Strand Road Fc 3-3 Ballyheigue Athletic

Strand Road and Ballyheigue Athletic both remain unbeaten after two games each when the teams picked up a point each on Sunday morning at Mounthawk Park. Ballyheigue had to come from behind three times in a game that saw them finish with ten men. Pa McCarthy scored twice for Strand Road with  Adam O’Mahony getting one while Kieran O’Connor scored twice for Ballyheigue with Lachlan McDonald getting one .

 

 

Denny Division 1B

 

Windmill United 0-2 Classic Fc B

Classic Fc made it back to back wins on Friday night against a Windmill United side who have now lost their opening two fixtures. Both Classic goals came in the final thirty minutes from David O’Connor and Shane Flavin.

Inter Kenmare 4-4 Killorglin Afc B

Inter Kenmare and Killorglin B both picked up their first points of the season on Sunday afternoon in a high scoring game at Kenmare. AJ Christian,  Evan Christian,  Marian Sima,  Fintan Davies all scored for the home side while Ryan O’Riordan scored twice for Killorglin with Paul Browne and Mikey Sullivan getting one each.

 

 

Denny Division 2A

 

Mastergeeha Fc 6-3 Tralee Dynamos B

Mastergeeha Fc got their season off with a winning start at Kilbrean Park on Sunday morning. Tralee Dynamos lead the game 2-1 at half time but a very strong second half performance saw the home side take all three points. Philip O’Leary scored twice for the home side with Paul Moroney, Dylan Murphy, Owen Daly and Gearoid Kerins getting one each.

Rattoo Rovers B 2-2 CS Abbeydorney

Rattoo Rovers B remain unbeaten while CS Abbeydorney picked up their first points of the season in both sides second outing. Rattoo Rovers lead two zero at half time with goals from Rhys Doyle Keane and Dylan Moriarty . However a second half comeback and goals from Oisin Maunsell and Jack Sheahan saw the CS Abbeydorney boys take a point home .

Mainebank Fc 1-1 Kilflynn City

Mainebank Fc remain on top of the division after three games and are still unbeaten after they shared the points with Kilflynn City who picked up their first points of the season. Once again it was James Long who scored for the third league game in a row for Mainebank Fc while Sean Weir was the scorer for Kilflynn City.

 

Denny Division 2B

 

AC Athletic B 1-4 Killorglin Afc C

Killorglin C team got their season off to a winning start against AC Athletic who had won their first game last weekend. In truth AC started the game with nine players before finishing with ten. Daniel Walsh scored for AC Athletic to before half time to level the game at 1-1. Killorglin took full advantage of the extra man and with a hat trick from Kieran O’Shea all coming from the penalty spot and one from Aidan O’Sullivan who was taken down for all three penalties ran out easy winners.

 

 

FAI U17 Cup 1st Round

 

Killarney Athletic 0-8 Ennis Town

Clare side Ennis Town travelled to Killarney on Saturday and proved to strong for the home side to advance to the next round of the competition.

Killorglin Afc 2-1 Avenue Utd

Killorglin are into the next round after the defeated Clare side Avenue United at the Dragons Den on Saturday. Dylan Moriarty opened the scoring for Killorglin from the penalty spot before Avenue levelled the game just before half time. With time running out Keith Evans became the hero when he scored to send Killorglin into round two where they will be at home to Killarney Celtic.

 

Denny Youth League

 

Dingle Bay Rovers 7-6 Rattoo Rovers

Dingle Bay Rovers started their season with a win at Gallarus on Saturday in very tough conditions. The home side found themselves 6-2 down at half time but a stunning comeback saw them take all three points. Colm O’Heartain and Naoise MacGearalt scored two each for the home side with Cian Wright, Dara Begley and Dean McAuliffe getting one each.

Fenit Samphires Fc 1-0 Atletico Ardfert

Fenit Samphires and Atletico Ardfert started their season off at Mounthawk Park on Saturday afternoon. The only goal off the game was scored by Fenit Samphires Darragh Heim .

Castleisland Afc 3-4 Inter Kenmare

Inter Kenmare picked up all three points for the first time this season at Georgie O’Callaghan Park on Saturday. Jason Brennan scored a hat trick for Castleisland Afc.
