FAI Junior Cup 6th Round (Last 32)

 

Buncranna Hearts 1-4 Killarney Celtic

Killarney Celtic are into the last 16 of the FAI Junior Cup after they made the long journey to Donegal and saw off the challenge of the home side. Stephen McCarthy opened the scoring after twenty five minutes and he got his second three minutes before the half time break. Danny Roche made in three nil on the hour mark before Stephen McCarthy gabbed his hat trick six minutes later. Buncranna pulled a goal back in the 88th minute. Killarney Celtic will be away again in the last 16 when they travel to Carlow to face Crettyard Utd in a couple of weeks.

Killorglin Afc are into the quarter final stage of the FAI U17 Cup after a great victory at home against DDSL side Belvedere Fc. After a scoreless 110 minutes the game was to be decided by penalties. Both sides scored their opening penalties , Killorglin then scored their second and Belvedere saw their second penalty saved by Killorglin keeper Jack McGillycuddy. Both sides then scored their third penalties and when Killorglin missed their fourth followed by Belvedere scoring theirs it was all level with one penalty left each. Killorglin made no mistake with their final penalty and their place was secured in the last eight when Jack McGillycuddy saved his second penalty in the shootout. Killorglin will host Carndonagh Fc from Donegal in a few weeks time in the quarter final.

Fenit Samphires 1-4 Killarney Athletic

Killarney Athletic in fifth place close the gap on the teams above then with a win against joint bottom side Fenit Samphires at Mounthawk Park on Sunday morning. William Courtney scored twice for Killarney Athletic with Ian Prendergast and Shane Bunyan getting one each while Chris Murphy scored for Fenit Samphires.

Listowel Celtic 3-1 MEK Galaxy

Listowel Celtic in fourth place also close the gap on the teams ahead of them after they came from behind to defeat the other joint bottom side MEK Galaxy. Tadhg Fleming opened the scoring for the visitors before goals from Micheal Kennedy, Ashley Kelliher and Darren Loughnane secures the three points for the home side  .

AC Athletic 1-2 Killorglin Afc

Killorglin Afc are up to joint third in the division after a win against seventh placed AC Athletic at Mounthawk Park on Saturday night. Killorglin opened the scoring in the first minute when Audie Dunlea scored but the game was all level after 25 minutes when Sean Leahy was on target. The winning goal came with twenty minutes remaining when Lee Carey was on target for his 7th league goal of the season in Denny Premier B.

Atletico Ardfert 0-4 St Brendans Park

St Brendans Park moved back into second position on Saturday night at Mounthawk Park with a very convincing win against fifth placed Atletico Ardfert. Aaron Ward, Adam Ward, John Ward and David Oba were the scorers for St Brendans Park.

Windmill United 3-2 Killorglin Afc B

Windmill United moved up to third place with a win against bottom side Killorglin B on Friday night at Mounthawk Park. In truth this game looked over with Windmill leading three nil as we heading towards injury time but a nervy few minutes saw Killorglin score twice while also see the match referee issue two red cards. Jason McCoy scored twice for Windmill Utd with Paudie Bailey again on target for the home side. Killorglin B goals came from Sean Costello and Manus Gallagher  .

Ballymac Celtic 1-0 Classic Fc B

Ballymac Celtic are up to fourth place with a single goal win against sixth place Classic Fc B. Ballymac’s chances of promotion are still well and truly alive having played less games than all the other teams in the promotion race thanks to a Donal Dillane goal.

Mainebank Fc 3-1 Kilmoyley Athletic

Mainebank Fc extended their lead at the top of the division with a win against fifth placed Kilmoyley Athletic at Mounthawk Park on Thursday night. Tommy Buckley, James Long and Brendan Delaney all scored for Mainebank who are now five points clear at the top.

Clanmaurice Utd 2-4 AC Athletic B

On Monday night AC Athletic moved up to joint fourth place and close the gap on some of the teams above them while also now having games in hand over them. Shane Leahy opened the scoring after fifteen minutes for AC Athletic . Clanmaurice pulled a goal back before Kieran Young scored twice with a goal in each half. Clanmaurice again pulled a goal back just after the hour mark but the points were secured a few minutes later when Chris Meehan.

MEK Galaxy B 1-3 Lisard Wanderers

League leaders MEK Galaxy B team were defeated for the second time this season on Sunday when sixth placed Lisard Wanderers travelled to Fossa and took all three points. Conor Collins opened the scoring for MEK Galaxy but a hat trick from Declan Cooney secured the win brings his total to nine goals for the season.

 

 

Dominos Pizza U17 Cup

 

Killarney Athletic 0-2 Dingle Bay Rovers

Dingle Bay Rovers are in the quarter final stage of the Dominos Pizza U17 Cup after a win away to Killarney Athletic on Sunday. They will now host St Brendans Park in the quarter final in the coming weeks.

Mastergeeha Fc 0-4 Listowel Celtic

A Dylan Quinn hat trick was enough for Listowel Celtic to book their place in the last four of the Dominos Pizza U17 Cup after they defeated Mastergeeha at Kilbrean Park on Saturday.

Killarney Celtic 4-3 Iveragh United

Killarney Celtic are up to fourth place after they came from three goals down at half time to defeat Iveragh United at Celtic Park on Saturday. Erin Moloney, Callum Grady, Callum O’Donoghue and Joe Kelliher all scored for Killarney Celtic while Cathal O’Shea scored twice for Iveragh Utd with Seamus Curran getting one.
