FAI Junior Cup 7th Round Last 16

Crettyard Utd 0-3 Killarney Celtic

Killarney Celtic are once again into the last eight of the FAI Junior Cup after a very convincing with away against Crettyard from the Carlow/Kilkenny league.  A scoreless opening forty five minutes included a penalty miss from Stephen McCarthy when the Crettyard keeper guessed correctly driving low to his right to turn his effort around the post. Stephen McCarthy made amends for this miss when he opened the scoring ten minutes after the restart. Things got better for Celtic five minutes later when the home side were reduced to ten men. Celtics place in the last eight looked to be secured when Wayne Sparling scored with four minutes remaining in normal time. Things got worse for the home side when they were then reduced to nine men before Wayne Sparling got his second with a cracking effort that found the top corner. Killarney Celtic will find out their quarter final opponent tomorrow when the draw takes place at Abbotstown.
