UCD 1-3 Kerry DL

Kerry made it back to back league wins on Sunday after a tricky assignment away in Dunlin against UCD. After going a goal down Kerry battled back to lead 2-1 at half time with goals from Daniel Okwute and Colin Walsh. Daniel’s second and tenth of the season secured the three points midway through the second half. Next up is a home game against Waterford Fc in our final league game of the season before the knockout stages begin.

Kerry DL 3-5 UCD

UCD took all three points from Mounthawk Park on Sunday but this was a game that saw a Kerry side never giving up even when the game seem to be out of sight with thirty minutes remaining. Sean Carmody got on the scoresheet early on to cancel out UCD’s opener. However UCD showed their experience with a number of players involved in their senior set up scoring four unanswered goals. Boki Nikic pulled a goal back with twenty minutes remaining and then he grabbed another with ten minutes remaining as Kerry finished the stronger of the two sides. Next up is our final home game of the season against Waterford Fc before the knockout stages begin.

Killarney Athletic became the first Kerry side to make it into round three of the FAI Junior Cup after they got passed Limerick Desmond League side Abbeyfeale Utd at Woodlawn on Sunday. Danny Healy and Ryan Carroll were the Athletic scorers before they needed a penalty shootout to advance to the next round.

 

Munster Junior Cup Preliminary Round

 

Killarney Celtic 8-0 Ballyheigue Athletic

Denny Premier A side Killarney Celtic proved to strong for Denny Division 1A side Ballyheigue Athletic on Friday night at Celtic Park. Lee Downing grabbed himself a hat trick with Stephen McCarthy, Wayne Sparling, Danny Roche, Ryan Kelliher and Gary Keane all getting a goal each for the home side. Killarney Celtic will now be away to MEK Galaxy in the first round.

Fenit Samphires 1-2 Listowel Celtic

Listowel Celtic came out on top in the all Denny Premier A clash at Samphire Park on Sunday. Chris Murphy opened the scoring for Fenit Samphires mid way through the second half before goals from Brendan Angland and Adam Cronin sent Listowel Celtic into round one. Listowel Celtic will host St Brendans Park in the next round.

Tralee Dynamos 3-1 Dingle Bay Rovers

Tralee Dynamos booked their place in the first round of the Munster Junior Cup with a win on Sunday afternoon at Cahermoneen against Dingle Bay Rovers. Ivan Kolarvic scored twice for Tralee Dynamos with Chris O’Sullivan getting one. Colm O’Heartain was the scorer for Dingle Bay Rovers. Tralee Dynamos will be away to fellow Denny Premier A side Classic Fc in the next round.

 

Celsius Menswear League Cup

 

Lenamore Rovers 1-3 Killorglin Afc B

Denny Division 1B side Killorglin Afc B advance to the second round of the Celsius Menswear League Cup after a win in Ballylongford against Denny Division 2B side Lenamore Rovers. Dylan Joys scored twice for the visitors with Sean Costelloe getting one. Shane O’Sullivan was the goal scorer for Lenamore Rovers. Killorglin B will host Listowel Celtic in Round two.

Classic Fc B 0-4 Rattoo Rovers

Denny Premier B side Rattoo Rovers proved to strong for Denny Division 1B side Classic B on Sunday morning at Mounthawk Park to advance to the quarter final of the Celsius Menswear League Cup. Mikey Boyle scored twice for Rattoo with Cian McGrath and Kevin Goulding getting one each.

CS Abbeydorney 3-4 Castlegregory Celtic

Castlegregory Celtic are into the quarter final of the Celsius Menswear League Cup after the got passed CS Abbeydorney in a seven goal thriller at Mounthawk Park on Sunday morning. Maurice Slattery scored twice for Castlegregory Celtic with Shane Kenny and Brandon Hoare getting one each.

Castleisland Afc 2-0 MEK Galaxy

Castleisland Afc started their league campaign off with a win against newly promoted MEK Galaxy on Sunday at Georgie O’Callaghan Park. Eamon Nolan opened the scoring with ten minutes remaining before Colm Murphy made sure of the three points for the home side.

Ballyhar Dynamos 3-2 Killarney Celtic B

Newly promoted Ballyhar Dynamos got their season off to a winning start at Murt Scott Park on Sunday against Killarney Celtic B. Mike Daly, Shane O’Sullivan and Diarmuid O’Mahony all got on the score sheet for Ballyhar Dynamos . Killarney Celtic B goal scorers were Padraic Looney and Mikey Moynihan.

 

Denny Division 1A

 

Asdee Rovers 5-0 Listowel Celtic B

Asdee Rovers came out on top in the north Kerry derby on Sunday morning at Craughdarrig Park at the expense of Listowel Celtic B. Darragh Keane, Micheàl Forgarty, Gavin Casey, Joseph Lynch and Paudie O Neil all go t on the scoresheet for Asdee Rovers who will be looking to build on this good start to the new season next weekend when they host Ballyheigue Athletic.

St Brendans Park 0-0 Strand Road Fc

St Brendans Park and Strand Road Fc picked up a point each from their encounter at Christy Leahy Park on Sunday Morning when neither side could break the deadlock.

Castlemaine United 6-3 Windmill United

Castlemaine United got their league season off to a winning start on Sunday morning against Windmill United. Wayne Coffey was the weekends top scorer when he scored four goals for Castlemaine United with  Jerome Flynn getting their other two goals.

CS Clochain Breanainn 3-0 Inter Kenmare

Newly promoted CS Clochain Breanainn got their league season off to a winning start against Inter Kenmare at Mounthawk Park on Sunday evening. Michael Dowd scored twice for the winners with Cian Grady getting the third.

 

Denny Division 2A

 

Kilmoyley Athletic 0-2 Mainebank Fc

Mainebank Fc got the better of Kilmoyley Athletic at Mounthawk Park in their season opener on Sunday evening where James Long scored both goals .

 

Denny Division 2B

 

MEK Galaxy B 3-2 Windmill United B

MEK Galaxy got life at Fossa off to a winning start on Sunday when they got the better of Windmill United B who were playing in their first ever league match as a B team. George Dobbins scored twice for MEK Galaxy with Mike Griffin also getting on the scoresheet.

Rattoo Rovers 9-2 Listowel Celtic

Rattoo Rovers got their season off to a winning start in the North section with a big win against Listowel Celtic on Saturday in Ballyduff.

Ballyhar Dynamos 0-0 Mastergeeha Fc

Ballyhar Dynamos and Mastergeeha Fc picked up a point each from their season openers at Murt Scott Park on Saturday afternoon.

Inter Kenmare 3-4 Killarney Athletic

Killarney Athletic took all three points home from Kenmare after a seven goal thriller that saw Athletic lead 4-0 at half time. Tommy Cronin scored twice for Inter Kenmare with Mark Looney getting one. Damien Switzer scored twice for Killarney Athletic with Matt Fleming and Jack McClain also getting on the score sheet.

Killorglin Afc 6-2 Castleisland Afc

Killorglin Afc got their youth league season off to a winning start on Saturday against Castleisland Afc . Gearoid Hassett scored a hat trick for the home side with Jack O’Leary, Ethan Coffey and Dylan Moriarty getting one goal each.
