FAI Oscar Traynor Trophy Play-Off
Sunday 19th February 2017
Kerry DL  1-5  Dublin Aul .
Kerry’s journey in this seasons Oscar Traynor Trophy ended on Sunday when they were beaten by a strong Dublin AUL side at Mounthawk park Tralee . Kerry fell behind to two early goals but began to get on top of possession midway through the first half and went close from a Danny Roche effort before Wayne Sparling’s shot beat Aul keeper only to see it come back off the bottom of the near post. Just when you felt Kerry would have a chance if they got a goal back from their pressure the Aul hit them on a quick counter attack to make it 3-0. Just before the half time break after some good attacking movement Ashley Kelliher was taken down in the box and Sean Brosnan made no mistake from the resulting penalty. Sadly in the second half Kerry couldn’t get another goal and the Aul sealed their place in the quarter final stage with two goals in the final 25 minutes . Well done to the Kerry players today would gave their all while wearing the County jersey . Team; David Hennessey, Daniel Downey, Aidan O’Callaghan, Gary Keane, Ryan Downey, Stephen Hayes, Joe Sheehy, Sean Brosnan, Danny Roche, Wayne Sparling, Ashley Kelliher.
