SSE Airtricity U17 Mark Farren Cup Final

 

Kerry DL 1-5 Bohemian Fc

Sadly the Mark Farren trophy made its way back to Dublin on Sunday evening after Bohemians defeated Kerry at Mounthawk Park. Played in front of a huge vocal crowd the atmosphere was fantastic. Bohemians took the lead in the 20th minute but just before half time Kerry struck for the equaliser when John Carmody found himself through with only the keeper to beat and he made no mistake.  However Bohemians came out in the second half and showed why they are so good, scoring three times in the opening fifteen minutes. With Kerry pushing forward to get try get back into the game they were caught on the break in the final ten minutes. Everyone is so proud of all these players and this showed after the final whistle when the huge crowd stayed on to cheer the Kerry’s players as they received their runners up medals. The season is far from over as Saturday they are away to Cobh Rambles in the SSE Airtricity U17 Shield quarter final.

 

SSE Airtricity U19 Shield 1/4 Final

 

Cabinteely Fc 3-0 Kerry DL

The Kerry U19 sides season ended Saturday in Dublin against Cabinteely Fc after the home side struck three times in the opening 45 minutes. We would like to thank Darren Ahern, Conor McCarthy, Chris Hegarty and all the players involved in the Kerry DL League Of Ireland U19 side for all their hard work and efforts throughout a long season.

After their huge victory in the last round against Newmarket Celtic, Castleisland’s journey in the FAI Junior Cup ended on Saturday night at Georgie O’Callaghan Park. The game ended two all after ninety minutes with Stan Divane getting both Castleisland goals with the second being a bicycle kick from the edge of the box. With neither side able to get a winner in extra time the game headed to penalties. In the shootout Newcastle West Town advanced when they scored four penalties in a row while Castleisland missed two from their three attempts.

 

 

Munster Junior Cup 1st Round

MEK Galaxy 0-7 Killarney Celtic

Killarney Celtic advanced to the next round of the Munster Junior Cup when they got passed the challenge of MEK Galaxy on Sunday morning. Celtic lead the game 2-0 at half time but took full control in the second half with two quick goals. Lee Downing scored a hat trick for Killarney Celtic with Adam O’Rourke, Ryan Kelliher, Stephen McCarthy and Danny Roche all getting one each. Killarney Celtic are away to Tralee Dynamos in Round 2.

Ballyhar Dynamos 2-3 Camp United

Camp United got their league season off to a winning start on Sunday at Murt Scott Park while inflicting Ballyhar Dynamos with their second defeat in three games. Jason Hickson scored twice for Camp United with Gearoid O’Shea getting one while Padraig O’Connor and Ger Fitzgerald were the Ballyhar Dynamos scorers.

Classic Fc B 2-5 Castlemaine Utd

Castlemaine United made it three wins from three games on Friday night with a win at Mounthawk Park against Classic Fc B. Cathal Moriarty opened the scoring for Castlemaine from the penalty spot before Wayne Coffey doubled their lead before half time. Castlemaine made it 4-0 when Cathal and Wayne each got their second goal before the hour mark. David O’Connor and Neil Cannon both got on the score sheet for Classic Fc before Jerome Flynn finished the scoring for Castlemaine Utd.

Killorglin B 2-7 Ballymac Celtic

After an opening day defeat Ballymac Celtic got their first win of the season on Saturday night at the Dragons Den against Killorglin Afc. In truth this game was over at half time with Ballymac scoring six unanswered times in the opening 45 minutes. Jack O’Shea was the weekends joint top scorer when he scored four goals for Ballymac with Vinny Murphy getting two and Mike Kelliher getting one. Dylan Joy and Diarmuid O’Sullivan were the scorers for Killorglin B who are still looking for their first win after three games.

Inter Kenmare 2-1 Killarney Athletic B

Inter Kenmare picked up their first win of the season while making it back to back defeats for Killarney Athletic B at Kenmare on Sunday morning. Jack Cooper was the scorer for Killarney Athletic B while the important goals for Inter Kenmare came from Gyatso Syange and an og.

CS Clochain Breanainn 3-1 Windmill United

CS Clochain Breanainn made it three wins from three on Sunday morning when they defeated Windmill United who have now lost their opening three league games. Goals from Micheal O’Dowd, Patrick O’Donoghue and Cian O’Grady had the home side three goals up before a Paudie Bailey free kick found the back of the net for Windmill United.

Tralee Dynamos B 3-4 Kilmoyley Athletic

Tralee Dynamos B are still pointless after three games when Kilmoyley Athletic came back from 3-1 down to win 4-3. Kilmoyley Athletic have moved into second place with their second win in three games thanks to two goals from Daniel Collins and one each from Jordan Brick and Dougie Fitzell.  The Tralee Dynamos scorers were Stefan Cvetkovic and David Townsend.

Lisard Wanderers 3-0 Classic Fc C

Lisard Wanderers picked up their first win of the season on Saturday night and remain unbeaten after two games when they defeated Classic Fc C in their opening league fixture. Ross Mansfield, Declan Cooney and Leon Shalemba all got on the score sheet for Lisard Wanderers.

Clanmaurice Utd 1-5 Windmill United B

Windmill United got their first win of the season on Sunday morning when they proved to much for Clanmaurice Utd . Thomas Healy scored twice for the winners with Conor Higgins, Joe Lenihan and Adam Boyle all got a goal each.

Lenamore Rovers 2-4 Killorglin Afc C

Killorglin C made it two wins from two when they travelled to Ballylongford on Sunday morning and took all three points home. Kieran O’Shea got on the score sheet for the second week in a row again from the penalty spot which makes it four from four for Kieran from the penalty spot. Dean Callan, Aidan O’Sullivan and Jamie O’Sullivan were the other scorers for Killorglin C. Shane O’Sullivan and Daniel Barden were the scorers for Lenamore Rovers.

 

 

FAI Youth Cup 1st Round

 

Killorglin Afc 4-5 Killarney Celtic

Killarney Celtic are into next round of the FAI Youth Cup but it didn’t look that way after 45 minutes. Killorglin were four nil up at half time with two goals coming from Killian Burke and one each from Jack O’Connor and Dylan Moriarty. Killarney Celtics second half goals came from Terry Sparling and Dylan Callaghan who scored two each with the fifth coming from Evan Looney. This win sets up a Killarney derby in Round 2 when Celtic host Athletic.

Ballyhar Dynamos 5-3 Castleisland Afc

Ballyhar Dynamos are unbeaten after two games when they picked all three points on Saturday after noon at Murt Scott Park. Peter Cosgrove was the weekends joint top scorer when he scored four goals for Ballyhar with Nathan Callaghan getting the fifth.
